Winemaker Notes
Embodying the generosity of great Paso Robles Cabernet Sauvignon, this wine offers alluring aromas of raspberry compote, fresh blueberry and caramel, with notes of sage and sweet baking spices. The blueberry and raspberry notes are echoed on the bright, structured palate, where they mingle with flavors of black currant, sassafras, and cocoa powder that linger throughout a long, luxurious finish.
Production
The 2021 growing season in Paso Robles began with an atmospheric river event that brought half of the region’s rainfall in one storm. February and March were cool and dry, with record low rainfall in some areas. The drought conditions resulted in small canopies and berries, increasing the overall concentration in the grapes. Summer brought ideal weather, with no major heat events and temperatures consistently between 85º F and 95º F. Even and steady ripening throughout Paso Robles compacted harvest, allowing us to bring in all of our fruit by October 13th, with our Bordeaux-varietal grapes offering incredible color and structure with beautiful dark fruit flavors.
